Preguntas frecuentes

¿Tienes preguntas? Tenemos las respuestas. Desde elegir el material adecuado hasta cuidar tus bobinas, aquí encontrarás todo lo que necesitas saber en un solo lugar.

What is PETG?

If we had a simple axis going from "low durability but easy to print" on the left to "high durability but challenging to print" on the right.
PLA would be in the far left, ABS would be in the far right and PETG would be exactly in the middle.
Printing temperature: (PLA+ABS)/2
Heat resistance: (PLA+ABS)/2
Strength: (PLA+ABS)/2
Feel free to check our TDS below for more scientific information.

Do I need to use the cooling fan with PETG?

Yes if you are looking for nice surface finish.
No if you are looking for strong and durable parts.
20% ON if you want the best of both worlds.

What are the differences between PETG and PLA?

Composition: PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) is a thermoplastic polyester, while PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a biodegradable thermoplastic derived from renewable resources like cornstarch or sugarcane.Printing Temperature: PETG generally requires a higher printing temperature than PLA. The recommended printing temperature for PETG is around 220-250°„C, while PLA is typically printed at temperatures around 190-220°„C.Strength and Durability: PETG has higher impact resistance and flexibility compared to PLA. It is less brittle and more resistant to deformation under stress. PLA, on the other hand, is relatively rigid and can be more brittle.Heat Resistance: PETG has better heat resistance compared to PLA. It has a higher glass transition temperature, which means it can withstand higher temperatures before deforming. PLA has a lower heat resistance and can start to soften and deform at lower temperatures.Printability: PLA is generally easier to print with and has less tendency for warping or curling during the printing process. PETG can be more prone to issues like stringing and requires proper bed adhesion and temperature control.Applications: PLA is commonly used for printing prototypes, hobbyist projects, and decorative items. PETG is preferred for functional parts, mechanical components, and objects that require higher durability, impact resistance, and heat resistance.

Is this material food safe?

Unfortunately we do not have any data whether this material is food safe. As of now, no 3D printing material on the market is FDA food safe compliant. This is because in order to be certified as food safe, the actual object needs to be certified and not the base material. The shape, bed used, environment the object was made, and much more goes into getting a food safety certificate. As of now there is no real certification that the FDA offers for 3D printing.

Is this material AMS compatible?

Yes! All Polymaker spools now have hardened edges that roll great in the AMS

Do you sell refills?

We are sorry but we do not sell refills at this time

This translucent PETG filament delivers excellent print quality and beautiful colors once settings are dialed in. Customers said "prints came out perfect" and praised the "excellent quality" and finish. While most found it easy to use, some noted it requires more tweaking of heat, speed, and flow settings than recommended. The red appears slightly pinkish when printed.

Fantastic PETG

I used the translucent Blue, Red, and Green to print signs for our garden. They printed great and look fantastic! Now to find more projects to print with these filaments!

Worked great for the Army lightboxes I made

Worked great for the lightboxes I make. Especially in the Army with the Green filament. Can't wait to try one with the Red, Blue and Green to see what it looks like.

Makerworld with Bambu Printers

Like all your filament, it works great in my two Bambu X1C printers. I have all your PETG colors in stock and use them for my birdhouses or anything that will be outdoors or needs a little extra strength. The Translucent Blue works great for some of the birdhouse windows.

Very nice looking filament prints well

This is very nice looking filament. I used it to print some roses and rose pencil holder. I like that PETG has some flex; so it is less likely to break.

Takes a lot of babysitting

You really have to tweak your heat, speed, and flow settings more than what's recommended. The quality's not horrible, but it was more trouble than it was worth IMO

I am sorry for delay here - looks like we had two reviews from you. If we have not helped yet with these issues please reach out to us via the email listed on the spool! Thanks and sorry again for any issues!

It's pretty decent though the red comes out a bit more pinkish when printed than the nice looking red in the marketing image.

Prints beautifully, love the glow

if you keep it dry, it prints beautifully. hate the color, but something about it is magic for regular shrinkage and now i am hooked on the glow.

Great ESD Filament Prints Well

I had been looking for ESD filament for awhile, but mostly found smaller brands I've had no experience with, and because it's ESD, it's usually rather pricey.Though this is more expensive than regular PETG ($32~ for 500g), it's still a good price, and it prints GREAT. Very pleased with the print quality. It's a very niche filament, but I'd happily buy this stuff again.

Go to product for prints

I go though a LOT of filament. I usually only print from 5KG spools. This filament prints as good as those costing far more. never a problem. It is my go to product for most prints.

Best ESD material ever

I use a ton of the ESD PETG (like hundreds of kgs a year). The 0.5kg rolls get really annoying. Also, better inventory would really be appreciated! I have to check almost daily to see if more material is back in stock. Other than that, this is the best ESD material I've used.

Easy to print, good color

I would say that this filament is slightly easier than most PETG to print, and I print a lot of PETG. The color is really good And has a very slight satin or semi gloss sheen.
