Customers said this ABS filament delivers "some of the best" print quality and excellent heat resistance, with impressive volumetric speeds up to 40mm³/s. However, shoppers report significant challenges with bed adhesion, dimensional stability, and color accuracy issues where "thumbnails" don't match actual product colors.

The person in charge of the thumbnails is colorblind

The person in charge of the thumbnails is colorblind. Not sure how else this sort of thing could happen. The Voron Red thumbnail is quite crimson, but the preview photo shows the proper color. Of course the way the website is set up on mobile, you can't always see the preview photo (or sometimes there isn't one) when you select the tile to add to cart. I'm happy to support the Voron project, but I was expecting it to be a darker red color to match the color of the parts on my printer.
I am still excited to use this filament, but I can't use it for what I planned for.
Polymaker, please buy whoever is in charge of the thumbnails a pair of thise colorblind correction glasses!

Very misleading color depiction

I bought the ABS Pro in Polymaker teal. I went by stock images and the hex code. The product in hand is not even close to what is displayed on the product page or any site depicting images by HEX. #1FBEC7 is a much stronger indicator of the tangible product.

I can't speak to the filament properties as I haven't printed with it and am not sure I even will because the color is so off. I would try and return if I could do that, but since the vacuum seal is opaque, I had to destroy the packaging to even see the color. Enough to put me off from buying other colors.

Very sorry for any issues with our HEX code being misleading - I do seem to agree this is a bit off. I am going to have the team investigate - in the meantime can you reach out to us via the email listed on the spool? We can help further there.

Could have chosen cheaper, but not for showcase builds.

I am the first to admit I will grab cheaper ABS solutions, but for printing parts for showcase printer builds I go for the best. Was excited to try out the new Polymaker ABS Pro for acccent parts in a new Voron 2.4 build and the ABS Pro printed flawlessly with minimal tuning on my Trident printer. Great solid white color. Thanks Polymaker! Great Stuff!

Not worth the gamble

Was really looking forward to this as a replacement to Siraya Techs HT HF ABS, unfortunately while there are some things it does better mainly in benchmarks actual printing experience is rather poor.

The Good
- Crazy good volumetric speed: I could hit 40mm^3 on occasion with no defects, and reliably all the time at 35mm^3
- Heat resistance: this benchmarks well comparable to Siraya tech
- Color Availability: Plenty of colors available as opposed to just black

The Bad
- Extremely difficult to print: 50% of the time loses bed adhesion after the first 5 layers or 3/4 of the way through a print.
- Dimensional Stability: This is easily the worst filament I've ever used when it comes to retaining shape, consistent sizing per print, and shrinking/warping during printing
-Surface Quality: No matter how dialed in the calibrations got and going from peak speed to half of the theoretical max layer adhesion is poor, no flow rate results in a smooth finish it either underextrudes, or overextrudes to the point of looking fuzzy, blobbing, etc
-Overall more demanding temps: Temps need to be roughly 20 degrees hotter on the nozzle and 15 degrees hotter on the print bed in order to have any chance of completing a print without losing bed adhesion, or having a ton of visible lines with banding and little lines from non adhesion
-Typical terrible Polymaker winding: We all know Polymaker does the worst job winding their filament, this filament is no different.

My overall take is that unless you have a chamber heater at a minimum, and max your heat on everything, you have no chance of printing this with any level of success consistently. While it benchmarks exceptionally, the real world application and use of this unfortunately does not match the potential. I'm giving it 3 stars instead of two, because i think if you can create the extremely demanding conditions required by this filament that potentially this could be a great filament for you.

How does the ABS Pro do on overhangs?

Polymaker

This will depend on if you have cooling fans on or not. If you are not using cooling fans - then the added chamber heat and high printing temperature can make it so that overhangs will droop.
But if you have cooling set too high you could be battling with layer adhesion. So it is a balance.
But as a general answer - we would say that you will need supports at lower angles than you would with something like PLA.
