PolySupport™ für PA12 ist ein Breakaway-Stützmaterial, das gezielt für die Nylon-12-Filamente (PA12) von Polymaker entwickelt wurde. Druckanforderungen
  • Es wird dringend empfohlen, einen Drucker mit zwei Düsen zu verwenden – wie einen IDEX oder Tool Changer. Bei der Verwendung einer einzigen Düse für zwei Materialarten treten Verstopfungsprobleme auf.
  • Ein All-Metal-Hotend, das 270˚C oder mehr erreichen kann, ist erforderlich.

Abgesehen davon gibt es keine weiteren Anforderungen! Kein Gehäuse oder gehärtete Düse notwendig.

  • Keep the filament sealed and dry; use the listed 100°C / 8h drying cycle if moisture-related defects appear.
  • Tune the support-interface gap so the material supports reliably but still separates cleanly.
  • Use only with a printer and material combination that can maintain both materials' required temperatures.
  • Start within the recommended 270 - 300°C nozzle and 50 - 80°C bed ranges, then make small adjustments for the printer and model.

Can I use PolySupport™ with other materials than Nylon 12?

We have designed PolySupport™ specifically for Nylon 12. However we had positive customer feedback on using PolySupport™ PA12-CF products as well.

Should not be used with CoPA since that is a copolymer of Nylon 6 and Nylon 6,6.

Can PolySupport™ dissolve in water?

No, PolySupport™ is a breakaway support: it requires mechanical removal.

Will the spools work in an AMS?

Yes! We have redesigned the edges of our spools so all Polymaker products will now spin great in the AMS.

That said - we will always recommend using a multi nozzle extruder when printing with more than one material type to help prevent clogs.

It is possible to print PA and PolySupport out of a single nozzle but you need to make sure you properly purge all of the previous material when swapping. IDEX or Tool Changer recommended.

Is this material food safe?

Unfortunately we do not have any data whether this material is food safe. As of now, no 3D printing material on the market is FDA food safe compliant. This is because in order to be certified as food safe, the actual object needs to be certified and not the base material. The shape, bed used, environment the object was made, and much more goes into getting a food safety certificate. As of now there is no real certification that the FDA offers for 3D printing.

Do you sell refills?

We are sorry but we do not sell refills at this time

Is this material recyclable?

Unfortunately there is no great answer for recycling PLA at this time. Our cardboard spools are biodegradable but there is no great way to recycle PLA at this time.

Support filament praised for dual extruder printing with PA12/PA12CF. Customers said it "doesn't weld itself to the print" and works "as good as" premium brands. Requires filament drier due to moisture absorption. Breaks away cleanly, though some prefer black color option. Efficient material usage when configured properly.

Great support filament product

I tried using this "support filament", it doesn't weld itself to the print. I set my slicer up so it only uses the support filament on the Support/Raft Interface. Meaning it only prints 2 layers (I use 3 Layers) between your support and the print. It lasts a very long time because of this, and works great. Great product, don't let the price scare you off, just do this and it uses very little material per print.

Best support interface material

This support interface material works the best that I've tried. It works as good as the Bambu product that came with my Bambu printers. Happy with the performance. I think that Polymaker is the official manufacturer for Bambu Labs.

Drying filament makes it superb

TLDR: I recommend getting 2 spools so you can switch them out every 12 hours or so. One printing and one in the drier. As far as dissolving the filament, I just put it in a tub of water for several hours, there were some areas that were still sticking after, I just scrubbed them a bit with a dish brush or tooth brush and they cleaned up well.There is not a lot for me to say that hasn't been said in these reviews already. I just wanted to add that if you're running this in a Bambu AMS system, you will need a filament drier. This filament was superb the first few prints, but then once it absorbed enough moisture to be out of spec, it was terrible. It would keep breaking while being retracted and get jammed in the hot end. Had to completely dismantle the hot end 4 or 5 times. After drying it out, it worked well again.I have read discussions online about people not needing a filament drier because the general atmosphere is dry in a particular region where the person lives. I live in the desert in the Southwest United States where humidity is 20% or less (often 10% or less), and I run a filament drier for all my filaments. You will especially need it for this one. It is designed to absorb water so it will dissolve. It will suck up whatever moisture it comes in contact with.

Great Support Filament For Dual Extruder

What a great support filament for my dual extruder printer. Saves me so much time cleaning up my PA12CF prints.If you've printed with PA06CF or PA12CF on a single extruder, then you know it's nearly impossible to add supports that will cleanly come off of the print, the support will not simply break off like printing with PLA, but now with the "break away" PA12 support, I can confidently tighten up my print and support tolerances for a much sharper and cleaner print.HOWEVER, please please please, I'm begging Polymaker to make a Break-away support PA12 in BLACK!. Even though the highlighter neon green support breaks off pretty easily, there are still small bits and fragments that are fused within the black PA12CF, especially in the nooks and crannies. For parts that are functional, I don't mind too much. But for aesthetic parts, I have to go into the print and pick off the neon bits.
