Panchroma™ CoPE: High-Speed, High-Quality Copolyester for Effortless Printing

Exceptional Surface Finish and Printability
Panchroma™ CoPE is a copolyester-based filament engineered for effortless printing and an exceptionally smooth, high-quality surface finish. Its advanced formulation significantly improves bridging and overhang capabilities, enabling reliable, high-speed printing up to 400 mm/s.

Superior Bed Adhesion With Important Handling Tips
This material offers outstanding bed adhesion, helping to prevent warping even on challenging prints. However, the adhesion can be so strong that a release agent (such as Magigoo or Vision Miner) is recommended for easier part removal. Avoid using textured PEI build plates without an added adhesive, as adhesion may be excessive. For the easiest release, allow prints to fully cool to room temperature before removal.

Specialized Compatibility
Panchroma™ CoPE does not bond well with standard PLA, making it unsuitable for multi-material prints combining PLA-based Panchroma effects. However, this low adhesion is an advantage when using CoPE as a breakaway support material for PLA, allowing for clean and easy support removal.

Choose Panchroma™ CoPE for projects demanding fast, reliable printing, excellent surface quality, and robust bed adhesion - especially when printing complex geometries or using breakaway supports.

Printing Requirements

Not recommended to be printed on textured PEI as this material has an extra high bed adhesion properties and can damage the bed. We recommend using Magigoo Original to help with print release if using a textured PEI plate.

A bed temperature of 40–50°C usually ensures good adhesion. For stronger grip, you can increase the temperature slightly—but avoid going above 60°C to prevent over-adhesion.

This will print great on any stock 3D printer and at higher than normal print speeds.

  • Use standard PLA settings, a 0.4 mm or larger nozzle, and full cooling for the best surface quality.
  • Do not combine CoPE with standard PLA in the same part because the materials do not bond reliably.
  • Use hairspray, Magigoo Original, or Vision Miner Nano on textured PEI to make removal easier.
  • Use glue when needed on PC or textured PEI and allow the plate to cool before removal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We've got answers. From choosing the right material to caring for your spools, here's everything you need to know in one spot.

What is Panchroma CoPE?

Panchroma™ CoPE (Previously called Panchroma™ Regular) is a new experimental product that is not PLA - it is CoPE: a copolyester-based material. It prints with very similar settings as PLA but can achieve better overhangs at faster speeds.

That said - it does not stick to PLA very well and therefore should not be combined with other Panchroma™ PLA Products in a single print. It also sticks very well to textured PEI plates, therefore we only recommend using Panchroma™ CoPE with a textured PEI plate if used with Magigoo Original.

Any tips to help reduce the material from sticking too well to the build plate?

Panchroma™ CoPE has had complaints from users of it sticking too well to textured PEI build plates. It seems this is unique to textured PEI plates only.

We suggest using Magigoo Original or Vision Miner Nano to help parts release easier.

Does this material produce harmful VOCs?

We do not have much for this as of yet but we we always recommend proper ventilation no matter the material you are printing.

From our minimal testing - CoPE VOCs is almost identical to PLA.

How difficult is CoPE to sand?

Sanding CoPE is similar in difficulty as sanding PLA - meaning it is not very easy to sand. If you need an easy to sand material we would suggest CosPLA instead.

Is this material food safe?

Unfortunately we do not have any data whether this material is food safe. As of now, no 3D printing material on the market is FDA food safe compliant. This is because in order to be certified as food safe, the actual object needs to be certified and not the base material. The shape, bed used, environment the object was made, and much more goes into getting a food safety certificate. As of now there is no real certification that the FDA offers for 3D printing.

Is this material AMS compatible?

Yes! All Panchroma™ spools now have hardened edges that roll great in the AMS. That said - you should only be printing it with other Panchroma™ CoPE spools.

Do you sell refills?

We are sorry but we do not sell refills at this time

Is this material recyclable?

Unfortunately there is no great answer for recycling CoPE at this time. Our cardboard spools are biodegradable but there is no great way to recycle CoPE at this time.

Can I mix and match effects into a single HueForge print?

This material will not mix and match with other Panchroma™ effects very well and should only be mixed with other Panchroma™ CoPE spools.

Customers praised this filament for fast printing speeds and vibrant colors. "Prints as well or better than anything else I've used," said shoppers. Many noted excellent bed adhesion and smooth finishes. However, some found it brittle and weaker than PLA for structural parts. Several mentioned it sticks very strongly to textured PEI plates, requiring glue or smooth plates for removal.

The colors are beautiful, bt layer adhesion not that great

The colors are beautiful, the print quality is excellent, especially on overhangs, and bed adhesion is almost too good (use something like Bed Weld as a release agent if you're using a PEI sheet). The only issue I've had has been with layer adhesion - it's good, but prints are not as strong as I get using PLA or PETG. CoPE is great for more decorative models, or for prints that won't be under stress. I also quite like the fact that it doesn't stick to PLA, so I can use it as the support interface material for PLA, and vice versa. This mean I can set the top Z distance to 0 and get as close to a perfect surface on supported areas as possible.

First Polymaker filament purchase ever

First Polymaker filament purchase. Bright and vibrant colors. The .bbsflmt profile however has a bed temp of 65 degrees C which is higher than recommended. Still printed fine, and I accidentally used my textured PEI plate one time, had no issues removing print but I keep my plates clean.

Great strength, but use glue

I odered the CoPe when they first sent out messages about it. I am very glad i watched the videos about because as a 3d printing newbie with an A1 mini, guessing a textured plate, this filament does super ultra stick crazy hard to the plate. I even have some i cant even scrpe off with a knite on my plate. I MUST use glue everytime of else i might rip a part of my project off the plate. One i have a project is finished, its strength and stabily is fairly comparable to other PLA filamens i have used. I do want it to be know you MUST use glue when using this filament l. I will be ordering more as I like the price.
One more thing, i order 4 spools when it came out and at least 3 of them have "jammed" while printing because of it being tangled on the spool, that that has been annoying, but fixable.

Polymaker's new material prints fast and well.

Polymaker knocks it out of the park again! I used the same profile as my PLA defaults on a textured PEO plate (not PEI) and achieved speeds up to 250 mm/s. (As far as I can tell, the Sovol SV06 Plus isn't physically capable of much faster than that so I could not test the advertised 400 mm/s.) I look forward to seeing what finishes Polymaker comes out with for this material, it's very easy to work with. Perhaps CoPEterra?

Works well at high speed

First material I've been able to get working at Ludicrous speeds on the Bambu X1C. Really impressed with the surface quality printing this fast. I couldnt get good adhesion at 30-40c bed temps but 50c seemed to do the trick! No need to use magigoo or anything on my BIQU Glacier plate!

Prints fast

These really do print fast and have great bed adhesive properties. Just don’t attempt multi color prints with anything else other than another roll of CoPE. You can mix with regular PLA if you want to use your Prusa XL to do supports with one type of filament and the main print with another. It makes removing the supports so easy.

good for special use cases

This is quite good as long as you choose if for the right items. The main downsides with it is that it breaks easier than pla or petg, but for things that don't need a lot of strength it's a good buy. I buy it for project when I want great colors and don't need very high strength and am trying to save money compared to having to buy a slightly more expensive pla. I even made a small stand completely out of CoPE that is maybe 5 inches tall and roughly 8x8 inches top surface. Had about 2lbs of stuff on it, no sagging or deforming several months later.

I really like the Panchroma CoPE filament

I really like the Panchroma CoPE filament. My wife and I manufacture parts for a machine we market and PLA and PETG did not work out for one particular part. CoPE is as easy to print as PLA, but is much tougher for our particular use.
