Description

Fiberon™ PA612-CF15: Advanced Carbon Fiber Reinforced PA612 Filament
Superior Engineering Performance (Formerly PolyMide™ PA612-CF)

Fiberon™ PA612-CF15 is a carbon fiber reinforced long-chain copolyamide (PA612) filament designed for high-performance engineering applications. Its unique chemical structure results in significantly lower moisture sensitivity than traditional PA6/66 and PA6-based nylons, while offering better mechanical properties than PA12-based materials.

Key Features and Advantages

  • Low Moisture Sensitivity: Maintains dimensional accuracy and mechanical strength, even in humid environments, reducing the need for frequent drying.
  • Enhanced Mechanical Properties: Outperforms PA12-based filaments in tensile strength, stiffness, and durability, making it ideal for demanding functional parts.
  • Carbon Fiber Reinforcement: 15% carbon fiber content delivers excellent rigidity, high strength, and improved thermal stability.
  • Warpfree™ Technology: Proprietary formulation minimizes warping and enhances print size stability, even on large or complex parts.
  • Consistent Quality: Fiberon™ PA612-CF15 is the same trusted formula as PolyMide™ PA612-CF, though it may print in a slightly darker black shade.

Ideal for Industrial and Engineering Applications
Perfect for automotive, aerospace, robotics, jigs, fixtures, and end-use components where dimensional stability, moisture resistance, and mechanical performance are critical.

Choose Fiberon™ PA612-CF15 for your most demanding projects when you need a carbon fiber nylon that combines low moisture sensitivity, superior mechanical properties, and exceptional print reliability.

Fiberon™ PA612-CF15 is the same great formula as PolyMide PA612-CF, although Fiberon™ PA612-CF15 may print in a slightly darker black shade color than its predecessor.

  • Use a wear-resistant nozzle, such as hardened steel or ruby, because the carbon-fiber reinforcement is abrasive.
  • Store and print under dry conditions (relative humidity below 20%); dry at 100°C for 10 hours before use.
  • Use a 40-50°C build plate, and turn the cooling fan OFF; an actively heated chamber is not required.
  • Use glue stick or Magigoo PA if bed adhesion is weak.
  • If the material is used as its own support, remove the support before excessive moisture absorption to avoid permanent bonding.
  • Anneal at 100°C for 16 hours when the annealed performance stated in the TDS is required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We've got answers. From choosing the right material to caring for your spools, here's everything you need to know in one spot.

What is annealing?

You can find out more about annealing HERE

What is moisture conditioning?

Moisture conditioning refers to allowing the print to absorb moisture. This is inevitble since nylons are hygroscopic, but you can expedite the process by keeping the print in a high humidity climate, or submerging them in water, for 48 hours. All of our test specimens were annealed at 100˚C for 16 hours, and then immerged in water at 60˚C for 48 hours. The average moisture content of specimens is 2.57%.

Should I anneal before or after moisture conditioning?

When you anneal in a convection oven, you will dry the part out. So if you moisture condition before annealing - you will need to moisture condition again after. So we would suggest to moisture condition after annealing.

Why do you use such a low build plate temperature with your nylons?

Our nylons come with our Warp-Free™ Technology. In order for this Warp-Free™ technology to work as it should - we want to make sure the build plate and the ambient air temperatures are both below 50˚C. We then anneal the print after to get it's full strength.

Learn more HERE

Will the spools work in an AMS?

Yes! We have redesigned the edges of our spools so all Polymaker products will now spin great in the AMS.

That said - you will need to be careful when using any abrasive materials in the AMS.

Can you offer 1KG Fiberon™ Spool Options?

Unfortunately we are not offering 1KG Fiberon™ options and this has to do with the increased chance of carbon fiber and glass fiber filament snapping on the spool.

Since carbon fiber and glass fiber filament is more brittle, we spool these with a larger core. This larger core means that 1KG of filament will not fit on a 1KG spool.

Customers praised this carbon fiber-reinforced nylon for "excellent strength and impact resistance" with "zero warping" and "dimensionally perfect prints." Many noted it requires proper drying and printer calibration for best results. Popular for demanding applications including tools and functional parts. Minor feedback mentioned limited spool size options.

Easy PA printing, looks amazing

Easy introduction to PA printing and it looks amazing. Supports are easily removable with minimal tuning, no issues with warping, and the parts are incredibly strong. The only reason it is 4/5 stars is due to not having the option to buy a full kg spool or even 2kg or 3kg bulk option. It makes printing a series of prints more convoluted than needed due to having to account for every limited gram on the roll and doubles the end of roll waste unless you have a system with a multi-material unit.

Light and stiff

This is my go to filament if I want something that is light weight and stiff. This stuff prints very well, great dimensional stability and the parts look great with the slightly rough surface finish.

This is some amazing filament

This is some amazing filament. Incredibly strong and I've been getting beatiful print quality on my P1S. I'd say it handles overhangs better than some PLA I've worked with. Only complaint is it will absorb some moisture over time. I once had it in a drybox that was heated for about 3 days and some holes came out undersized and I could see the affects of the moisture on the print quality. Great price - will continue to buy!

This has reignited my passion for printing

This has reignited my passion for printing. The results after an after couple hours of dialing in the settings have been breathtaking, and I have been printing for over 5 years. The products I have made using this Fiberon filament feels better in the hand, it is good to produce something that can really last.

Best for humid environments!!

This is by far my favorite filament for my applications. I live in a very humid environment (Louisiana) and I love the wet properties that you get with this filament. I will choose this over pa6cf any time.

Strong, easy to print, very consistent

Easy to print (as far as PA goes), great results using the recommended settings. I'm using it to print tools, parts, and jigs where PETG just doesn't cut it and if you truly dislike printing ABS (as I do)
