Do I need an enclosure to print ABS Max?
Yes. ABS Max requires an actively heated chamber of 65°C or higher for best results.

Does ABS Max require a hardened nozzle?
No. ABS Max contains no abrasive fillers and prints well with standard nozzles.

Do I need to dry ABS Max before printing?
Yes. We recommend drying ABS Max at 70°C for 6 hours before printing or if absorbed moisture.

Will the spools work in an AMS?
Yes! We have redesigned the edges of our spools so all Polymaker products will now spin great in the AMS.

What printers is ABS Max compatible with?
ABS Max is designed for printers with active chamber heating. It will print well on any enclosed printer capable of maintaining a 65°C+ chamber temperature.

What is the difference between ABS Pro and ABS Max?
ABS Max is the higher-performance option. It runs hotter (HDT 114°C vs 103°C at 1.8 MPa), offers best-in-class creep resistance, and requires an actively heated chamber of 65°C+ compared to ABS Pro's 50°C+. ABS Pro prints faster at up to 250 mm/s vs 200 mm/s for ABS Max. Choose ABS Max when you need the ultimate in thermal performance - choose ABS Pro for a broader printer compatibility and higher print speeds.

Is ABS Max stronger than standard ABS?
Yes. ABS Max offers extreme heat resistance, best-in-class creep resistance, and superior mechanical performance compared to standard ABS.

Is this material food safe?
Unfortunately we do not have any data on whether this material is food safe. As of now, no 3D printing material on the market is FDA food safe compliant. In order to be certified as food safe, the actual printed object needs to be certified — not the base material. The shape, print environment, and many other factors go into obtaining a food safety certificate.

How should ABS Max be stored?
Store in a cool, dry environment away from moisture and UV light. Use of a PolyBox™ or PolyDryer™ is strongly recommended during both storage and printing.
