  • Use a hardened nozzle because the filled or particle-containing formulation can wear brass nozzles.
  • Anneal for 30 minutes at 80°C - 100°C (100°C recommended) when higher heat stability is required.
  • Start within the recommended 210 - 230°C nozzle and 25 - 60°C bed ranges, then make small adjustments for the printer and model.
  • Use the recommended ON cooling-fan setting and keep printing speed within Up to 350 mm/s.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We've got answers. From choosing the right material to caring for your spools, here's everything you need to know in one spot.

Can you anneal Polymaker™ HT-PLA’s?

Yes, you can anneal BOTH for better Heat Stability performance, however only the GF

version will gain significant HDT properties.

What is Heat Stability?

The ability to withstand high temperatures without deformation while NOT under a

load.

Are Polymaker™ HT-PLA’s hygroscopic?

Similar hygroscopic properties to generic PLA.

Are Polymaker™ HT-PLA’s UV / Weather resistant?

Similar to generic PLA, no material-modification for UV/weather resistance, we need

further testing.

What is the shrinkage rate?

Very minimal, similar to generic PLA.

Are Polymaker™ HT-PLA’s dishwasher safe? (Food safety, water steam)

This depends on the 3D print and how sturdy it is. If you have thin walls they may be

subject to warping due to the harsher environment.

Can it print with PLA settings?

Yes! This material prints great with generic PLA settings.

Are Polymaker™ HT-PLA’s abrasive?

Polymaker™ HT-PLA is non-abrasive however Polymaker™ HT-PLA-GF has glass fibers so

you will need a hardened nozzle to prevent wear and tear on your printer.

Can you print Polymaker™ HT-PLA’s with a smaller nozzle?

Yes, you can use a smaller nozzle, like 0.2mm nozzle.

What is the highest speed you can print at?

HT-PLA you can print up to 300mm/s and HT-PLA-GF you can print up to 350mm/s.

Does all the colors have the same heat resistance?

Yes, all of the different color variations have the same heat resistance.

Is it biodegradable?

The resin matrix of HT-PLA contains only a small amount of non-biodegradable

components. Therefore, we consider it to be a material with good biodegradability

similar to polylactic acid.

What is in HT-PLA?

HT-PLA is a kind of PLA-based multiphase composites, its main structure is PLA

materials.

Is it strong?

The layer adhesion is fairly low, not recommended for single wall prints.

Does it have fumes when printing?

Similar to standard PLA.

Can I anneal HT-PLA in boiling water?

Yes you can, however if you have hard water with high mineral content, boiling your

part can cause the minerals to form a white dust coating on the surface.

Is this PLA also based on NatureWorks?

Yes.

Does HT-PLA have similar chemical resistance as regular PLA?

Yes.

What percentage of glass fiber (GF) is in the HT-PLA-GF composition?

12%

Why do we choose to not put the fiber content % in the name similar to Fiberon?

Polymaker™ prime materials naming convention is about keeping the naming

convention simple.

Could CoPE work well as a support material?

Yes.

Do you have to remove the annealed parts out of the oven immediately or let it cool

down in the oven after annealing?

No, you can remove them immediately if needed.

Customers praised this glass-fiber reinforced filament for exceptional heat resistance and ease of printing. "Easy to print and super strong," with a textured matte finish that minimizes layer lines. Most found it prints like regular PLA with superior dimensional stability. Some noted brittleness issues and difficult support removal, requiring hardened nozzles.

This is an amazing filament

This is an amazing filament. Perfect for everyday functional prints. If you want a natural non-smooth finish that shows minimal layer lines then look no farther.

Excellent product.

prints as easy as PLA, but significantly better heat resistance, and the GF versions have a really nice textured finish that obscures the layer lines nicely.

I’ve used it for functional parts that are exposed to pretty hot temperatures inside our motorhome and they’ve held up very well.

I am in love!!!

I am in love! This filament is amazing to work with and definitely adds the next level I needed to do some work with PLA. I had some brand specific projects I wanted to do and wanted the colors to match. It was great to see them come to life.

HTPLAGF Grey printed on X1C using PLC-CF profile

HT-PLA-GF Grey printed on X1C using default PLC-CF profile, 230 C temp. Printed without any issue. Most importantly the supports came off very easily and cleanly. By far that is my favorite property of PLC-CF now GF. I hope they stock them as refills so they'll run better in an AMS.

Great heatresistance

Excellent heat resistance. Gives an amazing finish for walls. Just wipe down any parts you make with this to break off any glass fibers that are protruding.

Polymaker is my go-to source for filament

Polymaker is my go-to source for filament, with an amazing color palette and an unbeatable, strong, tough series. I haven’t tried HT-PL-GF yet, but from the reviews I’ve read, everyone praises its strength and ease of printing.

Great Material, almost a 5

Perfect for this project (PLA Filament Spool). It is a little finicky to print. Very Hard but also brittle. It broke in the PTFE tube once. High temperature characteristics were spot on, just as described. It has a very interesting texture. It feels nice to the touch, but the extruder had some trouble grabbing it.

Amazing prints, looks incredible, high heat resistance

I love this filament. I designed and printed a phone holder for my car. The glass fibers make it look incredible. I've annealed the print, I've had no issues with softening in the car on a hot day. Also, it's about the only PLA I have that I don't have warping issues with, it's super stable and dimensionally accurate. It's my new favorite filament. Make sure you use a hardened nozzle with it.

I was very impressed with the PolyMaker HT-PLA-GF

I was very impressed with the PolyMaker HT-PLA-GF. I printed using .4 hardened nozzle with my Qidi Plus 4 with typical speeds used for PLA with additive in it. I push temps up to the 230C-234C, which for speed I run works out perfect in my experience after thousands of hours perfecting my Plus4 tuning. I then decided to anneal this filament to see full benefits. This was a very easy process and the results were very noticeable. Two parts of item I made when banged together rung out like solid wood.

I was very happy with my final results, will keep this material on hand for other unique projects that require the amazing tensile strength of PLA mixed with the high temp resistance found with Poly Maker HTPLA-GF. Do anneal your prints, this can very easily be done direct on your build plate if your part is not too thick. The result of annealing was impressive. Thank you PolyMaker for such a wonderful product. I will be purchasing your HT line more often going forward.

I would love to see PCTG from PolyMaker?

Good but not great

Good filament but does not work for structural parts in the heat. Annealing helps but I can achieve better results with GF ASA with no post processing

My favorite PLA

This is definitely my favorite PLA. It can withstand high heat temperatures. I already have stuff 3-D printed and put on my boat and it’s doing great. I love the texture of the Glassfield PLA it prints great if I had to give it a couple cons, it is stringy, but that can be fixed with just a little bit heat heat and I also printed at 250° C because I tried to get the best of layer adhesion and that’s the only other con. But it prints so beautifully

HT-PLA-GF? YES PLEASE!

It prints like a dream, has the finish texture that you love of fiber filaments and won't turn into a puddle when accidentally left in your car! The support removal is impressive as well, it really does release from itself as a support material quite nice.

Perfect for Florida

I live in Florida, so gear has to hold up to not only the 90+f temps and high humidity, it has to survive inside 110+f vehicle interiors. It's nice to be able to print something quick and easy that will survive those conditions. It's a nice, simple alternative to ABS or PA for some applications, without the need for a lot of dryer time, or annealing. Just print and go.

Also very impressed with the quality of the print without any tweaking, just used Polylite presets in Bambu Studio and it worked a treat.
